Getting Started
Step 1: Familiarize yourself with CrossFit
- A. First I would like to say that “yes everyone can do CrossFit.” Many people say that they are not in shape enough to start doing CrossFit. NOT TRUE…here at CrossFit BA we can scale all workouts to your own athletic abilities. We understand that everyone is different and each has their own set of circumstances. Does that mean that my grandmother shouldn’t do squats? No! Her needs of squatting are different than that of a college athlete. A college athlete squats in order to get stronger; my grandmother squats in order to MAINTAIN strength.
- B. Now that we got that out of the way; take the time to download and read entirely the following articles from the CrossFit Journal, What is Fitness and CrossFit Foundations.
Step 2: Experience CrossFit for yourself
- A. Then give us call or just drop by to watch a class in progress. CrossFit is best experienced in person than it is by watching videos on the internet. Many of the athletes that you will find in videos on the internet are top level athletes; which does not correctly reflect the millions of people that benefit from CrossFit on a daily basis. Then drop by on Saturday for one of our free “Intro to CrossFit” classes and experience CrossFit for yourself.
